We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable expert who will be responsible for performing the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions. To ensure company purchases on financial activity are recorded promptly and accurately, and invoices are paid on time.

To be a successful candidate, you should exhibit sound knowledge of best practices in accounting and experience in a similar role. Moreover, it would help if you were someone whose accounting expertise translates into optimized expense control processes.

Responsibilities: 

  • Route all unapproved invoices to the correct department to obtain approval
  • Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, following the company’s policies and procedures
  • Correctly code all invoices using appropriate accounts
  • Enter all invoices into the computer system for payment in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries for account reconciliations and issue reports to management.
  • Set up new vendors as needed
  • Research past due invoices for clarification or payment
  • Request copies of unpaid invoices and forward them to the appropriate department for approval
  • Work closely with external vendors and other departments as it relates to financial transactions throughout the company
  • Handle vendor issues about payment disbursement, prepayments, incorrect payments, etc.
  • Exhibit friendly, positive, and team-like behavior
  • Always follow all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent is required
  • At least four years of related financial experience
  • Logistics Industry experience preferred
  • Advanced technical skills, including Excel, other MS products, and ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, and add-on reporting software
  • Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in-office as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
